Dr. Johnson starts August 6th

Hello, I’m Gabriela, and I want you to know something from the very beginning: you don’t have to have everything figured out before starting therapy.

Maybe you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, or carrying the exhausting pressure of trying to hold everything together. You may be navigating a major life transition, struggling in your relationships, questioning your next steps, or wondering why life feels harder than it seems to be for everyone else. Whatever brings you here, you deserve a place where you can slow down, take a deep breath, and know you don’t have to face it alone.

I believe every person has the ability to grow, heal, and create a life that feels meaningful. Sometimes we simply need someone to help us untangle what feels confusing, reconnect with our strengths, and move forward with greater confidence. My goal is to create a space where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted, without pressure to be anyone other than yourself.

My belief in the resilience of the human spirit has been shaped by experiences both inside and outside the therapy room. Working on a crisis hotline taught me the life-changing impact of simply listening with compassion. Participating in medical missions in Haiti and Cuba showed me the incredible strength people can find during life's most difficult moments. Even my background in musical theater taught me that showing up authentically takes courage and that vulnerability is often where growth begins.

Whether we're meeting for therapy or a psychological evaluation, my goal is the same: to help you better understand yourself. I enjoy exploring how the brain works, uncovering the unique ways you think, learn, and process the world, and helping you make sense of experiences that may have felt confusing for years. Assessments aren't about putting people into boxes, they're about discovering your strengths, identifying areas for growth, and providing practical, personalized recommendations you can use in everyday life. My hope is that you leave with greater clarity, self-compassion, and a roadmap for moving forward.

Outside of the office, I'm a proud Tampa native who enjoys swimming, cooking, traveling, creative writing, and spending time with my dog. Growing up in a culturally diverse family taught me to appreciate the experiences, traditions, and identities that make each person unique.

I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from Nova Southeastern University after completing my undergraduate studies at the University of Florida. Whether you're seeking therapy, answers through psychological testing, or both, I would be honored to walk alongside you as you build a life that feels more authentic, hopeful, and fulfilling.
