Hi, I'm Sammie. Taking the first step toward therapy can feel intimidating, but you don't have to have everything figured out to begin. Together, we'll explore your experiences, navigate life's challenges, and work toward meaningful growth - one step at a time.

Maybe you've been telling yourself to "just get over it," wondering why you can't seem to stop overthinking, or feeling guilty for having emotions that don't match the person you think you should be. You may be carrying stress, navigating a major life transition, questioning your identity, or simply feeling emotionally exhausted. Whatever has brought you here, you deserve a space where every part of you is welcomed without judgment.

One of the things I am most passionate about is helping people let go of the belief that some emotions are "good" while others are "bad." We live in a world that often tells us to stay positive no matter what, but constantly pushing difficult feelings aside usually leaves us feeling more disconnected from ourselves. I believe every emotion has something important to tell us. Rather than fighting your feelings, we'll learn to understand what they need and how they can guide you toward healing and growth.

This perspective became deeply personal to me during my own experiences with stress and life transitions. Before therapy, I often believed I had to be happy all the time and felt guilty whenever I wasn't. Learning that two seemingly opposite emotions can exist at the same time really changed the way I viewed myself. I discovered that healing doesn't come from pretending everything is okay, it comes from making room for all of your experiences with compassion instead of criticism. That is the same grace I hope to offer every client who sits across from me.

My role isn't to tell you who to be or how to feel. Instead, I'll walk beside you as we make sense of what's weighing on you, recognize patterns that are keeping you stuck, and build practical tools to help you move forward with greater confidence and peace. I'll gently challenge you when it helps you grow, while always making sure you feel supported, respected, and understood.

Outside of the therapy room, I love spending time outdoors, whether I'm at the beach, by the pool, walking, or riding my bike. Scuba diving is one of my favorite ways to recharge because it reminds me how much beauty exists beneath the surface. I also enjoy cooking, traveling, exercising, and spending time with family and friends.

I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of South Florida and am a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern providing individual therapy and couples counseling. If you're ready to stop carrying everything on your own, I'd be honored to walk alongside you as you build a life that feels more authentic, balanced, and fulfilling.
